Mandatory dog training in Zurich?! Imagine this in Hong Kong!

Starting June 1, 2025, all dog owners in Canton Zurich will be required to complete mandatory training courses under a new law focused on boosting safety and animal welfare.

Every dog, no matter the size or breed, will need to attend six practical lessons.

New dog owners or anyone who hasn’t owned a pup in 10+ years — must also pass a 2-hour theory class with an exam.

And yes, owners have one year to complete the training after getting a dog or moving to Zurich.
