The West Kowloon Cultural District (WestK), long known as one of Hong Kong’s most popular pet-friendly hangouts, has unveiled a major revamp of its pet zone, located at the West Gate near the Western Harbour Crossing Toll Plaza. The renovated area now features the brand-new WestK Pet Club and pet-friendly bicycle rentals, inviting the public and their furry friends to enjoy a unique outdoor experience by the harbour.
WestK Pet Club and its amenities
The new WestK Pet Club is a dedicated play space for pets, featuring two main areas — the Lawn Zone and the Runway Zone.
- Lawn Zone: Packed with fun obstacles like the Sandwich Platform, Giant Book Climber, Jam Jar Steps, Pineapple Bun Platform, Picnic Basket, Doughnut Tunnel, Pet Measuring Station and Wacky Mirror Selfie Spot. This area encourages pets to climb, jump, and explore.
- Runway Zone: Designed for leisurely strolls, this area is decorated with floral, pond and duckling motifs for a relaxing, picnic-like vibe.
Amenities are also provided, including biodegradable waste bags, pet deodorising, and antibacterial sprays, and a pet supply vending machine — ensuring convenience for every pet parent.
Pet-friendly bicycle rentals
Next to the Pet Club, WestK now offers retro-style bicycles from Japanese brand tokyobike — including adult, youth, and child models, plus balance bikes for toddlers.
In addition, various pet-friendly bicycles, such as lightweight rear-basket bicycles and reinforced tricycles, are also available, with selected models exclusive to WestK, catering to pets of all sizes — perfect for families or pet owners looking to enjoy a scenic ride along the waterfront promenade.
Enhanced pet bus service
WestK and KMB have expanded their collaboration to make visits easier for pet owners. The new Pet Bus stop outside the Hong Kong Palace Museum shortens the walking distance to the WestK Pet Club and Art Park.
