Hong Kong’s pet-friendly restaurant scheme has launched smoothly, with more dog-friendly dining venues expected as a second round of applications opens within six months.

Starting May 18, restaurant operators in Hong Kong can apply to join a new Food and Environmental Hygiene Department scheme allowing dogs inside licensed premises. The first approved venues are expected to begin admitting dogs in July.
